Thanks to the generosity of the people of Henstridge, their families and friends we completed the purchase of the Bird in Hand pub this morning, Wednesday 31 March 2026. This makes the Bird the newest Community Benefit Society pub in Somerset! Come and celebrate with us on Wednesday 1 April at our Party at the Pub!

The pub is one of the central points of the village, lying about halfway between the church, the shop and the village hall. People drop in for lunch during the week, or for a drink after work. In the evening there are darts, skittles and board games on different evenings and, on Saturday, sport on the big screen. Once a month we have a Quiz Night to raise money for local causes and the pub hosts live music on a regular basis.
